April 17, 2018 - Florida women are making 87 cents for every dollar their male colleagues make, according to an annual pay gap report by the National Partnership for Women and Families. The non-profit advocacy group uses U.S. Census Bureau data to compile the pay gap in every state. They released the information in advance of "Equal Pay Day" on Tuesday. Florida, California and New York were the states with the lowest wage gaps — though even that 13-cent gap adds up, the report shows.
All together, Florida women are losing more than $46.2 billion each year, the report says. Individually that’s a yearly difference of $5,474. Visit www.tampabay.com to read full article.
