January 24, 2018 - Tiffany Haddish and Andy Serkis announced the nominees for the 90th Academy Awards on Tuesday morning from and we’re pretty excited about the long list of black celebs who nabbed the coveted nominations. Haddish and Serkis were joined by a few more celebs including Priyanka Chopra, Selma Hayek, Rosario Dawson, Michelle Rodriguez and Zoe Saldana, while they ran through all 24 categories of the annual awards show that honors the year’s best films and performances. The two-part, announcement presentation is a bit of a departure from the usual format of the usual format of announcing Oscar contenders and aired live from LA’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater. The list of nominees is also a departure from the norm, with way more African Americans nominated than we’re used to seeing.
